One of my favorite events throughout the year is Orange County Rescue Mission’s graduation ceremonies. There is nothing more exciting than seeing an individual or a family that was once all too familiar with poverty, homelessness, hardship, and sorrow now cross the stage to receive a diploma that signifies much more than simply completing a program. It signifies God’s restoring work in their lives and hearts through a 1-2 year journey of hard work, determination, and perseverance.

The graduation ceremony is a rich reminder of the significance of the work done here at the Mission, as people who were once lost and  broken are now restored and developed into self-sufficiency. At our most recent graduation, held on Saturday, June 25th, 15 students from 4 of our programs (Village of Hope, House of Hope, Laurel House, and the Double R Ranch) were honored by a full house of friends, family, and guests sharing in the celebration of their hard work and commitment to a self-sufficient life.
Please take a look at the video below in which our graduates share their stories. It is our joy and honor to support these graduates as they take the next step in their journey to self-sufficiency.
