A New Father's Day

I could not be more proud of Rescue Mission graduates like Jared. Men who have overcome their pasts, humbly completed the program at the Orange County Rescue Mission and committed to a life of faith and honorable fatherhood.
This article in the Orange County Register is an incredible tribute to Jared other fathers who have restored the relationships to their families through diligence and discipline at the Rescue Mission and experienced trans-formative encounters with God.

Jared Buse, 28, father to Jared Jr., 5, left, and Gage, 6, overcame his broken past, crediting the Orange County Rescue Mission for his success.
A SECOND CHANCE
He had a rough childhood and followed in his parents’ self-destructive footsteps. After time behind bars, he turned his life around to be a better father and husband.
NAME: Jared Buse
CAREER: Works in the service department at Tustin Buick GMC; completed the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope transitional program.
AGE: 29
FAMILY: Married with two children. Sons Gage, 6, and Jared Jr., 5
HOMETOWN: Buena Park
BIGGEST DAILY CHALLENGE: Getting my sons up, dressed and fed for my wife so she can take them to school, and making sure I find that little bit of time to spend on my spirituality.
PERFECT DAY: Me and my family sitting at home watching movies, playing in the sprinklers and barbecuing something for dinner. Also having both my boys willingly get into the shower and go to bed with no fuss.
ATTITUDE: To be the father, husband and leader that God has called me to be. To make sure everything I do reflects to my children in a good, positive way. Everything I do is for my family. They are my first priority.
MAKING IT ALL WORK: To know that I am not alone. That I am to rely on the Lord and he will balance my life.
For many of us life is eagerly diving into the task of making sure our lives are in order securing a job, a place to live, paying off debts, fixing the car, etc. These external needs are all important, but the strength to consistently follow through on them comes from our inner spiritual life; in my case that’s God. By taking time each day to acknowledge his presence and to ask for the power to do His will I find my sense of balance, and with that balance comes peace.
