When a community invests in its children, it invests in its future. The Rescue Mission believes this, and our friends at Chick-Fil-A believe this. Thanks to Chick-Fil-A’s generosity, the Rescue Mission is able to invest even further in the lives of homeless children.
Orange County Rescue Mission has been chosen by the Chick-Fil-A Foundation to be one of the recipients of their 2017 True Inspiration Awards! This award includes a $100,000 grant. With this support, we will join with other community partners in bringing the Children’s Business Fair to the Village of Hope. This wonderful event gives children from throughout our community the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to create and launch a business. This hands-on project helps them to understand not only what it takes to run a business, but the skills required to become economically self-sufficient.
I would like to thank my friend, Peter Brakke, owner and operator of the Tustin Legacy Chick-Fil-A restaurant, for nominating the Rescue Mission for this great honor. Peter continues to work alongside myself and the Rescue Mission, laboring for the cause of ending homelessness, one life at a time.
I am so thankful for our continued partnership with Chick-Fil-A. Our relationship with this reputable brand has consistently proven to be a vital resource. It is a wonderful encouragement to me to see a business and a Rescue Mission unite in support of a cause larger than business – transforming the lives of hurting and broken people.
