If you’re anything like me, you use Amazon for many purchases nowadays. Everything from new gadgets to home supplies, and even groceries can arrive straight to your door. But did you know that your everyday purchases can benefit the homeless of Orange County?
In addition to being convenient, Amazon is community-minded. The Amazon Smile feature allows shoppers to choose a charity which will receive proceeds from each purchase they make. Through the Orange County Rescue Mission Amazon Smile account, we have earned $675 over the last 6 months. These donations have funded 456 meals for formerly homeless families and individuals.
Today only, March 16th, Amazon Smile will be donating 5% of all purchases made for Orange County Rescue Mission. While 5% may seem small, it only takes $1.48 to provide a meal for someone in need – every dollar counts!
The Rescue Mission is privately funded, and we do our best to take advantage of every opportunity to support the cause of ending homelessness, one life at a time. We are grateful to Amazon Smile for helping us achieve this goal.
