Everyone loves a good before and after snapshot.
It is the perfect juxtaposition of a negative and a positive. It convinces us that transformation is possible. The challenge is the temptation to believe that such a transformation can happen almost immediately.
This weekend I had the privilege of celebrating yet another class of men, women and children walking across the stage at the Village of Hope commemorating the completion of their program at the Orange County Rescue Mission.
Reflecting on their stories of ‘before’ and celebrating their ‘after’s,’ I know that each of these men and women have invested a committed effort toward the transformation of their lives. Where this weekend we celebrated their ‘after’s’ I am continually reminded of every intentional detail in the program at the Orange County Rescue Mission and how the dedication of time and detail has led each of these individuals to their triumphant ‘after.’
Congratulations winter class of 2014! I am celebrating your hard work and the team effort of all of our volunteers, donors and partners that have invested in this transformation and who continue to cheer you on well into your future ‘afters’ and beyond.
