It would seem that the trend among start up businesses is bent toward the social enterprise movement.
I am continually inspired by the brainstorms of entrepreneurs that seek to better the world through business. I am also inspired by traditional business owners that seek ways for their establishments to partner with existing non-profits already working to improve the local social sector.
The Orange County Rescue Mission has been so fortunate to build relationships with businesses all across Orange County that have successfully extended their specified services and profits toward the cause of helping homeless men, women and children improve their lives, which in turn, betters our community as a whole.
One such business would be Orange Aluminum. A generous gift of thousands of dollars was raised by the employees which was then matched by the business as a gift to OCRM. In addition to that match, their gift was also given before the year end which was matched by our year end matching grant, multiplying the number of homeless families that are able to be fed and sheltered well into this new year.
