Here at the Rescue Mission, we love Christmas so much that we celebrate it twice!  For the sixth year in a row, the Village of Hope welcomed the holiday spirit early for our Christmas in July celebration!  This wonderful event is not only a great way for the community to contribute to caring for the Least, the Last, and the Lost by donating toys and necessities, but it is also a joy-filled day for families to have fun and make memories together.

As he has for several years now, Peter Brakke of Chick-Fil-A in the Tustin District took the lead for the event as the Event Sponsor and ChicK-Fil-A provided a delicious meal for everyone in attendance!  Another longtime supporter and friend of mine, John Patterson of Tustin Mazda and Tustin Auto Center was an Event Partner once again this year, and as always he did a tremendous job of encouraging his employees and customers to donate items for this event.

I also want to give a huge thank you to all of the individual and group volunteers that manned the carnival-style game booths which were so much fun for all of our kids and families!  Thank you to the following groups for your help making this event a hit:  Mark Seransie and family, Laguna Beach School District, Kindred Community Church, LionsHeart, Saddleback National Charity League, Mission Viejo Christian Church, AT&T, Canvas Church, St. Paul American Orthodox Church, Bank of America, Trabuco Canyon Presbyterian Church and Event Partners Boys and Girls Club of Tustin.

This event is full of Christmas joy and holiday fun, right in the middle of summer, and our residents look forward to it every year!  Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, and friends that make this special event possible!
