It is easy to forget that Christmas is at its core a birthday party.
Imagining how we approach a friend, family member or even our own birthdays puts this holiday into perspective.
Celebrating the birth of Jesus is the ultimate celebration of the life of the Savior of the world.
Each month at the Village of Hope, volunteers spend an evening in our cafeteria celebrating the birthdays of adults. What a special occasion to share a birth month with Jesus. It was a special night this month as our friends from Irvine Presbyterian Church hosted this month’s birthday party, recognizing eight of our students birthdays.
The church’s pastoral staff, deacons and spouses even joined us for the dinner and party which included a surprise visit from Santa, who handed out gifts to the children, and a roving minstrel that played Christmas carols all night.
Thank you for not only celebrating the lives of the men and women here at the Mission but also the birth of Emmanuel, God with us!
