Being a parent to foster, adopted, and biological children is one of my greatest joys! And in commemoration of National Foster Care Month, I want to announce that the Rescue Mission is a group of people actively supporting orphaned, fostered, and adopted children. Along with several employees who are foster and adoptive parents, I have fostered nine children and adopted three.

Recently, we joined together to celebrate the adoption of a new family member! Director of Development Kyle Houlton and his wife Kelsey adopted their fourth child and only daughter. After many months of fostering, the Houltons earned the opportunity to become her adoptive parents. They are embracing the unique experiences of loving their child through adoption. I was happy to encourage and support them at our recent employee gathering to celebrate their family!
