Employee of the Month

Employee of the Month

by | May 1, 2014

The work we do at the Orange County Rescue Mission requires unique individuals to answer the call and carry out the cause of serving the least, the last and the lost. The miracles that we get to witness in the lives of broken men, women and children are no shortage of evidence that God is at work here. The exceptional element is that although this is God’s work, He chooses to use us to carry out these stories on a daily basis. In light of celebrating our successes, we also hope to celebrate the men and women who selflessly serve on the Orange County Rescue Mission’s staff to make the successes possible.
This month we are delighted to highlight OCRM’s Accounts Receivable staff member, Judy Jankowski, as our Employee of the Month.

OCRM Employee of the month: Judy Jankowski

One of OCRM’s key core values is “Excellence in everything we do.” Judy is a model of this value: committed to accuracy, problem solving, upholding our high financial standards and controls. Although she works very quietly, her diligence and commitment does not go unnoticed.
 Church
My family and I worship at St. Thomas More in Irvine.
 Family
I have been married for 22 years. Our daughter will begin her first semester at Duke University in the Fall just as our son begins his first year of High School.
Life Before the Mission
I graduated from USC with a degree in Business.
I worked at the American Red Cross in Los Angeles for 11 years and for the United Way for 9 years prior to that.
We moved to Orange County in 2007 and I found the job posting for OCRM online!
About working for OCRM
I feel proud to work for the Rescue Mission and I’m very thankful to have grown in my faith since working here.
I love working with our staff. It’s a wonderful work environment and I’m doing what I love: working with data and information, being detail-oriented and analytical.
What Does a Bad Day Look Like?
When I don’t get everything on my list done – when I don’t accomplish all that I had hoped.
For What are You Most Proud?
I am proud of my children. They are good kids, do well in school and are strong in their faith.
What Do you Do Outside of Work?
I enjoy reading in my free time. I belong to a book club and we meet once a month.
As a family, we enjoy going to the movies. We are a soccer family, both of our kids play and my husband coaches.
Congratulations to Judy! We are so thankful for her heart and dedication to serving the love of Jesus Christ to everyone she meets.
