Formally Homeless Boys Camp at the Ranch

Yet another unforgettable weekend at the Double R Ranch, thank you to our generous funders and the blessing of a space located in the middle of God’s great-outdoors.
As we continue to use our Ranch as a retreat space for our families from the Rescue Mission, this time, boys from the Village of Hope were granted a special weekend away with survival training from two ranked officer-instructors from a nearby SERE School, training in Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape.

The theme for our all boys camp was a military style Boot Camp where they learned how to make emergency fires, how to signal using mirrors and other make-shift devices, and how to collect water from trees. The boys also had craft times where they created “Field Manuals.”  The manuals were not only to help teach them how to come to Jesus but potentially instruct them how to lead someone to Jesus as well.
Here is a video recap of all that happened over the weekend.
While the boys may have been rowdy, this past weekend will be one they will be sure to remember for a long time.
Big thanks to our donors and funders that made this weekend possible and special thanks to the instructors that patiently gave their time and expertise to our kids.
