Homelessness is reaching new heights and there seems to be no lasting solution for the issue. Religion Unplugged reported that “according to data collected by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, homelessness in California increased by 6.8% between 2019 and 2020, the states’ largest year-over-year increase on record. The same report found that California accounts for more than half the homeless people in the country.”

While following California’s homeless situation closely, Religion Unplugged found the story of one of our graduates, Murrae “Rae” Glenn. In 2013, Rae stayed at a homeless shelter on Skid Row before coming to Orange County Rescue Mission (Rae is from Orange County). Today, she is a chef for NBCUniversal.
