Yesterday I had the privilege of celebrating National Flag Day. A day in which we celebrate the installation of the Stars and Stripes as our national flag on June 14th in 1777 by the Second Continental Congress.
Flag Day was first established in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson, but not until 1949 and the Truman administration was it made a national holiday, although it is not a federal bank holiday. You might or might not know that the colors of Old Glory have meaning. Red stands for hardiness and valor. White symbolizes purity and innocence. Blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice.
I was able to celebrate National Flag Day as a guest of Mark & Bronwyn Bucher and the Family Action PAC. Senator Ted Cruz was our guest speaker and spoke about our Nation and how we must honor our flag and the principles of freedom and liberty. www.FamilyActionPAC.org
