Each month we like to highlight an employee who exemplifies the mission, philosophy, and values of our organization. This month we are delighted to highlight Jason Vorck as our Employee of the Month.
Jason faithfully serves on our Development team as our Digital Media Producer. Jason helps create a majority of our media, maintains our online presence and even helps me with this blog! Jason enjoys the unique opportunity he has to witness, capture and share the stories of transformation of people in Orange County Rescue Mission programs. His job is a challenging one, but he faces every task with a joyful heart and positive attitude. He is a light around the office! It is an honor to serve alongside of you, Jason!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My full name is Charles Jason Vorck – Charles is a family name carried down from generations, although we all end up going by our middle names. I live here in Orange County with my beautiful wife Jen and our two energetic, little girls. In my free time, I enjoy furniture woodworking and watching Angels Baseball.
How long have you been at the mission?
I have been working for the Rescue Mission for little over a year now.
How did you hear about the job opportunity at the mission?
It came up in conversation with Jim. The position had just opened up and fit my experience in digital media.
What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy being part of this team and a community that all works together to help restore those that walk through these gates.
What is the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of my job is seeing a resident here stall or struggle in their journey.
How have you grown since coming to the mission?
I have a deeper connection with my faith and foundation in the Lord.
Motivation to keep going:
I am motivated by the desire to be a positive role model to my two little girls and give them a strong foundation to grow up with.
