When a leader in the business community applies his or her skills to the common good, it is amazing what can be accomplished. I am a firm believer that the use of our skill sets do not need to be, and should not be, segregated between for profit and non-profit.
John Patterson, President of the OC Auto Team at the Tustin Auto Center, is one such business leader. And apparently, no task is too “small” for John. Just recently he led the Auto Center in a donation drive for the youngest homeless at Orange County Rescue Mission, to help us fill our urgent need for diapers and wipes.  Thank you John and Tustin Auto Center!
And this is just his most recent contribution. John also serves as a Partner in the Rescue Mission’s Christmas in July event, he is a major contributor to the Magic at the Mission Christmas celebration, he is a Sponsor for this year’s OC Charity Classic Golf Tournament, and is seeking new partnerships for us to grow our donation and volunteer base.
These are the ways that John contributes to his community. He understands the impact he has and the difference he makes in the lives of others. He sees that by gathering 2000 diapers, he is helping to shape the future of those once homeless children that are now getting a second chance in life along with their families.
But there are so many ways that business leaders can apply their passion and skills for the good of our community. If you are a leader who wants to be challenged to give and empower those who are homeless to become self-sufficient contributors, please get in contact with me. Let’s imagine a more hopeful future for everyone in our community.
