Our 5th Annual Turkey Trot was a huge success! Once again the community gathered to spend their Thanksgiving morning giving back to our hungry and homeless neighbors. A total of 906 walkers and runners took on the 5k challenge around the Tustin Legacy route. The community raised 24,848 meals through the registrations and donations of participants, and with the support of our Presenting Sponsor, Naked Zebra, and community sponsors Oltman’s Construction Co., Brakke-Schaftnitz, Union Bank, Farmers & Merchants, and Goe & Forsythe.
I would also like to give a special thank you to all those that helped to provide prizes for the winners: TravisMathew for donating gift cards for each of our 3 top male finishers and L-Space for donating gift cards for each of our 3 top female finishers. Another thank you goes out to Bank of America for providing trail mix for pre- and post-race refreshments, and a thank you to CR&R for providing the trash and recycling cans. I would also like to thank the City of Tustin and the Tustin Police Department for their important role in making this event successful each year.
Finally, one last big thank you to the 115 volunteers that came out to serve! This event is only possible through the collective participation of the community. We are so grateful for everyone who made this another memorable Thanksgiving for the Least, the Last and the Lost of Orange County. THANK YOU!
