Volunteer Spotlight: Chef Paul!

Volunteer Spotlight: Chef Paul!

by | Sep 19, 2018

Orange County Rescue Mission is blessed to work with some amazing and talented professionals – especially in our kitchen!  And last weekend one of our volunteers, Chef Paul Ratkovich, was recognized for his outstanding talents at the 3rd Annual Tustin Chefs Gourmet cooking competition!

I am so proud to share that Chef Paul placed 3rd out of  26 total chefs that participated in this competition hosted by Tustin Community Foundation.  What an incredible achievement!  His dish, an amazing cream of mushroom and king crab soup was a favorite of the judges and guests alike!

In addition to award winning food, Chef Paul is a stand out because he uses his skills to train residents of the Rescue Mission in culinary skills. Chef Paul is a wonderful friend of the Rescue Mission and his wife, Barbara, is employed with us as our Food Services Assistant Manager.  This family seeks to serve others with their gifts and talents and they always go above and beyond to provide our residents with healthy and delicious meals. I am so grateful for both of them and glad to share with you about Chef Paul’s honor!

Congratulations Chef Paul, and thank you for your dedicated service to the Least, the Last, and the Lost!
