I would like to introduce you to another Orange County Rescue Mission Superhero: Jeff Mongelli!
Jeff has a heart and passion for the development of our children’s events and activities. He helped create and implement the “Kids on a Mission” Club, an entrepreneurial club for the children living at Village of Hope. This club teaches children how to develop, run and market a business of their own. They then have an opportunity to showcase that business at our bi-annual business fair event. Jeff is faithful and dedicated; he is always willing to step in when extra hands are needed. We appreciate his commitment to volunteering with us.

Why do you choose to volunteer at OCRM? What have you gained personally by volunteering?
OCRM has an amazing mission and a program that changes people’s lives. It’s an honor to be a part of their success. I’m involved in teaching the young children (and their parents) about entrepreneurship and how to manage the basics of a business – creating a product, calculating the costs, pricing it for profit, and both product and personal presentation. It’s great fun to see the kids learn and succeed at the Kids on a Mission Business Fair events.
What would you say to someone considering volunteering with OCRM?
OCRM is an outstanding organization from the top down. It’s great to be around people who believe in their mission and serve others with purpose. If you’re looking for a place that will welcome whatever help you can offer, even the smallest contribution can make a big difference. The rewards are well worth it.
