Over the next few weeks, I would like to shine light on some ‘behind-the-scenes’ individuals that work hard to serve the community here at Orange County Rescue Mission. They dedicate their time, talents and resources, and their service makes an incredible impact on the Rescue Mission.
Today, I would like to introduce you to Linda Rose.
Linda Rose Mongell Parkinson is a beloved friend and partner of the Hurtt Family Health Clinic, a federally qualified health clinic operating at the Orange County Rescue Mission Village of Hope campus as well as in Santa Ana. She has served on the Hurtt Family Health Clinic Board of Directors since November of 2012, and currently is the Vice Chair of the Board.
In addition, since 2009, Linda Rose has been the driving force behind Orange County Rescue Mission’s Magic at the Mission, a Christmas celebration event for the homeless children and families at the Rescue Mission. Magic at the Mission is the most anticipated community event for our children and their families. It is a time when parents can select Christmas gifts for their children, and also when the children can “shop” for their parents and pick out gifts for them as well. This provides tremendous dignity and self-value to the children and parents.
Linda Rose has also helped pioneer food drives for the Rescue Mission through the Tustin Auto Center alongside her husband Mark Parkinson, who owns Tustin Buick GMC.
Her impact on the Rescue Mission is leaving a wonderful legacy for years to come.
Thank you for your service and partnership, Linda Rose!
