My dedication to sharing the love of Jesus Christ to the homeless men, women and children of Orange County has become my life purpose. Over the years of serving the lost and broken hearted, it has become clear that so much of our pains and struggles in life have to do with the fact that we just don’t know who we are and what we were created for — we don’t have a context for our lives.
These questions, which seem universal, paved the way to my interest and enthusiasm for John Eldredge’s Ransomed Heart ministry and specifically his Wild at Heart message. We have incorporated the books and messges into the program at OCRM for each of our men as well as the Captivating lessons for OCRM women.
Last year, I was able to attend (for the fifth time) a Wild at Heart boot camp with a group of men I highly respect and it was such a moving experience, I knew that I wanted to bring the “LIVE” experience to OCRM.
By the grace and provision of God, this last weekend we were able to bring the first Wild at Heart boot camp to the Double R Ranch.
With the teaching and mentorship of myself, Ryan Burris, Pastor Ray Johnson, Pastor Tony Woods, Jerad Beltz and Brett Ryan, we were able to expand the existing curriculum we use in the program at OCRM to emulate Ransomed Heart Ministry’s Wild at Heart Boot Camp for the men at the Ranch. This experience was nothing short of miraculous as we watched the tangible evidences of God moving in the hearts of this rugged band of brothers.
At the conclusion of the weekend, God was doing such a work in the heart of these men, we were able to witness a particular young man make one of the biggest decisions in his life.
God is moving at the Orange County Rescue Mission. I am in awe that I get to be a part of the God story playing out all around me. This weekend has left me more and more excited for the possibilities to come.
