I believe we can change the world… and we are starting right here, in Orange County.
The Orange County Rescue Mission operates a faith based prevention, emergency, transitional, and affordable housing that includes: food, clothing, education, healthcare and housing, but most importantly wrap around services, to our clients. Countless single men, single women, single parents and families have come to OCRM to complete an 18-24 month program in order to attain self sufficiency.
Our focus is the support services necessary to help the homeless achieve full recovery from the issues that landed them in the circumstances of becoming homeless in the first place. An instrumental piece in admitting those in need into a program such as ours are our weekly street outreaches throughout Orange County. The Chili Van brings food to those currently living on the streets, as well as mobile medical services, legal services and referrals to other available social services.
I am excited to share with you, as this work would not be possible without your help, that this integral street outreach is actively bringing services to the streets 19 days out of this month of July! This is the most days that this outreach has been possible in quite a while.
The Chili Van is regularly serving in Huntington Beach on Mondays, Dana Point on Tuesdays and Santa Ana on Thursdays. If you would like to see the Chili Van serve in more cities and meet more homeless on the streets with services to help them transition to self sufficiency, please email Ryan Burris (ryan.burris@rescuemission.org) for the opportunity to get involved in this outreach. Together we can change the world and we can start right here by delivering these services directly to the Least, the Last and the Lost currently living on the streets of Orange County!
